Eyebrow Tattoo Aftercare Information
Proper care following your procedure is necessary to achieve best results. Keep in mind that in many cases some unevenness and of colour is to be expected. This is the purpose of a touch up visit.
Week 1 - Your brows darken and thicken due to increased scabbing over the area. By the end of this week your brows should begin to dry out and peel/flake away leaving behind very light patchy pigment.
Week 2 - Your brows will appear light and patchy in areas
Week 3 - You’ll notice that your brows may begin to darken slight as new skin begins to heal and pigment returns to the surface.
Week 4 - Your brows should be healed and slightly darker than week 2-3. You will, however, would have lost approximately 30-40% of the original pigment colour from day 1. Your touch up visit will assist in building on pigment colour and retention while adjusting shape and any other issues that may have arisen.
DAY 1 ONLY – Avoid anti-inflammatory medication and alcohol for 24hrs.
In the first hour after procedure, dab/wipe the area regularly with a damp makeup pad to remove excess fluid build-up. Do not apply ointment during this time.
FROM DAY 2 ONWARDS -
Clean the area and apply THIN LAYER of aftercare cream once in the morning for 5 days
Avoid wetting the area for 5-7 days
Avoid excessive exercise for 5 days
Avoid direct sunlight for 7-10 days
If the skin is itchy apply a little more ointment
Exfoliation is part of the healing process and takes 4-6 days
Do not pick, peel or scratch the crust off
The eyebrows will take 7-10 days to fully appear after the peeling has finished. At this point the colour will be lighter and more natural
It will be 2-3 weeks before the true colour appears. For some it is perfect, others it may be too light, or patchy in some areas. If this happens you may apply makeup until your scheduled top up. Only apply once all crusting has detached from the brow.
